Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) increases the amount of oxygen available to the body's tissues, supporting the body's natural recovery, healing processes and overall wellbeing.

At Health Pod Frodsham, HBOT is offered as general wellness support. It is not presented as a treatment or cure for medical conditions and does not replace advice from your GP, consultant or other healthcare professional.

Before you book

Your wellbeing comes first. Everyone completes a consultation and suitability screening before their first treatment, so we can make sure it’s right for you. The notes below help you know what to tell us.

May not be suitable if you have

  • An untreated collapsed lung (pneumothorax)
  • Certain respiratory (breathing) conditions
  • Difficulty comfortably equalising the pressure in your ears — treatment may be declined if you cannot
  • Severe claustrophobia
  • An active ear infection
  • A high temperature or fever, or feeling unwell
  • Any condition where hyperbaric oxygen is not advised without medical approval

May need a chat or clearance first

  • Pregnancy
  • Asthma or COPD
  • Recent ear or sinus surgery
  • A cold, sinus problems or nasal congestion — please mention this at screening
  • Claustrophobia or anxiety in enclosed spaces — please tell us at screening
  • A seizure disorder, such as epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • Any medicines you are currently taking
  • Other respiratory (breathing) conditions
